Mahatma Gandhi Ayurved College Hospital and Research centre, Salod (H), Wardha is established in 2007 by the vision and mission of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Dattaji Meghe under the ambit of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University) which was granted status of a Deemed University in year 2005 by the UGC.

It is progressing since then under the guidance of its founder Vice-Chancellor & present Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra. Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajiv Borle, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Neelam Mishra, B.O.M. Member Hon’ble Sagarji Meghe, all University officials and all management authorities have profound support to achieve the goals of the institute. It is the first self funded University of this region and it was accredited with an “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is an autonomous body set up by the UGC. In third cycle of assessment it is presently Re-accredited with “A+” grade. Our university is conferred “A” grade status by H.R.D. Ministry, Government of India. Our institute’s Hospital is the first Ayurved Hospital in central India to be Accredited by National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH).

Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) has recognized our institute as Regional Centre for training & Academic activities. We have Centre of Excellence for Interdisciplinary Research and lifestyle modifications. Under its ambit an International conference was successfully held in the month of January 2018.  

This college runs UG course with 60 intake capacity, PG course in 9 specialties with 44 seats along with Ph.D., M. Phil. and fellowship courses.  The hospital is well equipped with 180 beds, private rooms and established Panchkarma centre. A team of devoted clinicians works hard to satisfy the healthcare needs of society. Dattatray Ayurved Rasshala is FDA approved facility with endorsement for manufacturing of 7 doses forms which is assisted by well equipped Analytical Lab. Herbal garden is spread in 5 Acres having 329 species of medicinal plants, poly-house and half Acre green-house.  The University is focusing on research and the pointers towards its growing esteem in this regard are the B.C. Roy Award for Research which was conferred on the University by Her Excellency Shrimati Pratibha Patil, the President of India on the occasion of the ‘Teacher’s Day’. Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Pro-Chancellor, DMIMS (Deemed to be University) had been awarded with B.C. Roy Award, the highest among medical fraternity.
