Datta Meghe Institute of medical sciences ( Deemed University), Nagpur, Maharashtra state, India ( Declared as Deemed to be university under section – 3 of the UGC Act, 1956), Mahatma Gandhi Ayurved college Hospital and Research centre is the constituent college of DMIMS (DU).

Department of Human resource development, Government of India, on the recommendation of the UGC has accorded the status of a university to Datta Meghe Institute of medical sciences (Deemed University), Nagpur for the faculty of Ayurveda.

Since the Government of India on the recommendation of UGC has granted the status of Deemed to be university to DMIMS, their Degrees and Diplomas would have the same status as of those given by any statutory university that is recognized by the UGC. Moreover prior to coming under the ambit of Deemed university MGAC H & RC is already recognized by the Apical council CCIM and AYUSH, New Delhi & also by the state and central governments.

The university has been re-accredited & is granted "A" grade by the "NAAC", Bangalore.
