Introduction

Panchakarma is a special procedural branch of Ayurveda, in which a “Super Specialization” of Ayurveda is expressive. Putative special procedurals of Panchakarma distinguish Ayurveda from other systems of medicine. Study of different eliminative procedures, massages, fomentation techniques, therapeutic emesis, purgation, medicated enema, bloodletting, oil shower on head (Shirodhara) are the different highlighted areas covered in this arena.
